Ukambani School Project

Some of you may already know that the Ukambani Region in Kenya is one of the most impoverished places on earth suffering from disease and drought, lack of education and resources, and a people disheartened by generations of difficulty. Daniel and Rebecca Mbiti (pronounced (m)BEE-TEE – the (m) is barely discernable) are part of an organization within this region in a city called Machakos who put it in their minds to build a local school to combat this dire situation. Unlike the U.S., it is assumed that schools be self-sustaining.

The land on which the school is built must produce enough food and water to provide for all the children in the school on a daily basis. The school employs locals to farm, cook, and of course teach. Oftentimes, this school provision is the only meal some of these children will eat in the course of a given day. Most of us have already heard the "story" and some of us even contribute to organizations who have devoted themselves to the cause. Well, in this particular case, these are my friends and suddenly it’s personal.

We teamed up with some other friends of mine that are part of an organization called Horizon Initiative who are determined to get the word out. That is why a portion of all my sales will be going towards this project until its completion. Please join me in supporting this vision.
